How is residual moisture controlled and minimized in RheaLyo systems?
Identical residual moisture levels are achievable compared to batch freeze-drying. Residual moisture levels are mainly dependent on total desorption time, the accurately controllable product temperature and the applied controlled freezing step.
The RheaVita technology directly controls these parameters at the vial level, hence residual moisture can be controlled in a robust way. We have demonstrated that the vial-to-vial variability and batch-to-batch variability in moisture content is much smaller compared to batch freeze-drying.
